Switching to ShoutCMS

ShoutCMS is initially installed on a temporary sub domain like "http://yoursite.shoutcms.com" and is only visible to you or whomever you share the link with.  You can then configure ShoutCMS at your leisure.  When ready you simply switch the site live to your permanent domain.

 

 

1. Order ShoutCMS - select the best fit, Standard or Business

Start by choosing a plan that best fits your need. The Standard packages is perfect for anyone looking to manage a site that does not require eCommerce, invoicing or billing.  The Business package is ideal for any business or organization looking to fully harness their site.

 

2. Configure site settings 

Start by configuring site settings like Contact details, auto responders and Welcome messages.  You typically configure settings once however you can always come back and make adjustments. 

 

3. Populate & configure content 
Now that you've configured site settings you can begin populating pages.  At this point your site is on a staging area so it's private unless you share the link.

 

4. Import contacts or products if any 

If you have an existing database of users or products you'll wish to import them into the system.  

 

5. Test - make sure everything looks right

With any project and especially your site you want to double check content and feature such as the eCommerce section, Forms and Contacts area.  We recommend asking a friend to review your work for a different perspective. 

 

6. Flip the Switch

Once your satisfied flipping the switch is easy.  Your site will switch from the sub-domain "http:///YourSite.shoutcms.com" to "www.YourSite.com"
